Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Unveils Comprehensive Action Plan to Eliminate Terrorism
Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has finalized a comprehensive Provincial action plan aimed at eradicating terrorism and restoring law and order. The plan was approved during a high-level meeting chaired by Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur.
According to the details, the action plan comprises 84 measures categorized under 18 key areas. The government has assigned responsibilities to relevant provincial departments and federal institutions, each with specific implementation timelines.
Key Measures of the Action Plan:
Strengthening Public Confidence: The government will rebuild trust in the state system and reinforce institutions’ capacity to deliver justice.
Community Involvement: Authorities will encourage public participation in security and development-related matters.
Targeted Actions: Security forces will conduct systematic operations against terrorists and their facilitators.
Police Reforms: Officials will prioritize recruiting, training, and equipping law enforcement with necessary weapons and tools.
Strict Oversight: Agencies will continuously monitor terrorist activities and their supporters.
Government Accountability: Authorities will take strict disciplinary action against government employees facilitating terrorism.
Enhanced Administrative Role: The civil administration will lead counter-terrorism efforts.
Capacity Building: The government will strengthen the police force and Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) through fast-track initiatives.
Legal Actions Against Terror Financing
In a separate development, the Peshawar Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) sentenced Khan Muhammad to 13 years in prison for financing terrorist activities. Additionally, the court imposed a fine of PKR 250,000, with an additional 15-month imprisonment in case of non-payment.
The implementation of this action plan marks a significant step in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s fight against terrorism, ensuring a more secure and stable environment for its citizens.
